Hi. I'm Michelle.

Michelle, a white woman with brown hair, is leaning against a log railing. She is wearing glasses and a blue collared shirt.

Let me see if I can do a 60-second version of my life story. I grew up all over the place because of my Dad’s Army career. In college, I majored in Early Childhood Education. My sophomore year, I met a tall pre-med student and my world changed forever.

Chris and I were married in December 2001, two weeks after I graduated college.

While he was in medical school, I taught elementary school and earned National Board Certification as an Early Childhood Generalist in 2005.

Our son was born a few months before med school graduation; I came home from the classroom at the end of that school year. Our next baby, a daughter, was born during Chris’ surgical residency. Our youngest was born just one month after Chris entered private practice.

As if those three lovely human beings don’t keep me busy enough, I’m also a proud dog mom to two Weimaraners.

I’ve served in children’s ministry and women’s ministry at my church, and am usually hosting a weekly Bible study in my home (or by Zoom during pandemic life). When it comes to fiction, I’ve paused in my querying trenches – but if you’re part of the #writingcommunity, I’m always up for talking craft and sharing stories!

I’m also a coffee fiend, a Disney lover, and a Weird Al Yankovic fan.
