Hi. I'm Michelle.
Let me see if I can do a 60-second version of my life story. I grew up all over the place as an Army brat. In college, I majored in Early Childhood Education. My sophomore year, I met a tall pre-med student and my world changed forever.
We got married in 2001, two weeks after I graduated college.
While he was in medical school, I taught elementary school and earned National Board Certification as an Early Childhood Generalist in 2005.
Our first child was born a few months before med school graduation; I came home from the classroom at the end of that school year. Our next baby was born during Chris’ surgical residency. Our youngest was born just one month after Chris entered private practice.
While being a stay-at-home parent the past twenty years, I’ve been a homeschooler and a substitute teacher, a La Leche League Leader and Girl Scout Leader. I’ve served in children’s ministry and women’s ministry at a couple different churches, and have often hosted a weekly Bible study in my home (or by Zoom during pandemic life).
My newest adventure is taking me back to the classroom… for graduate school! I’m embarking on a Masters of Arts in Education, focusing on Gifted Education & Talent Development.
As if all of that doesn’t keep me busy enough, I’m also a dog mom to a Weimaraner and a Russell Terrier; an avid reader, a Disney & Marvel nerd, a coffee lover, and a Weird Al Yankovic fan.
So glad you stopped by!
