I’m watching the replay of the March ClubMäksē

I’m watching the replay of the March ClubMäksē training on momentum while I catch up in my companion notebooks this morning.

I’m really looking forward to the sessions they have planned for Q2 in ClubMäksē. The first quarter of this year, I really haven’t made the most of my membership, but I am ready to shift that this spring.

A lot of my annual goals this year are maintenance goals (where you want to maintain healthy habits, routines, or spaces in your life that nourish you) — but a few were stretch goals and I’m SO happy with the progress I’m making there. 2023 is already off to a better start for me than 2022 went, goals-wise.😁😬

In other words: I’ll probably be showing up here more with planning and goals stuff once again after a long hiatus. 😝

Last night, these two slipped out an unlatched doo

Last night, these two slipped out an unlatched door sometime after we ate dinner but before we had dessert.

I’m not going to cast blame, but two people in my house were a little bit upset with each other. Both thought the other one was responsible for the door being left ajar.

Everything turned out fine for our silly pups— we jumped into action, whistling and calling for them all around our property, then drove around the neighborhood in the growing dark looking for them, but we left the garage doors up and lights on.

When we drove back home, ready to post on Nextdoor and hope someone had taken them in to warm up… they were inside! They had pushed the door open with their noses (we didn’t even know they could do that. Might be time for us to replace a couple of doorknobs around here!) and were eagerly waiting to greet us with wriggles and licks and wags.

In life, when things go sideways, it can be so tempting to 1️⃣ look for who’s to blame or 2️⃣ jump into action to fix everything yourself.

Take this as a gentle, dog-slobber-covered reminder that sometimes when things seem awful — the best thing to do is open the door, turn on the light, and just sit still.

Yesterday, I spent the day with my youngest kid on

Yesterday, I spent the day with my youngest kid on a special trip. 💖 She wrote a short essay about Family Resource & Youth Service Centers in our schools a few months ago, and was selected to represent her school and the FRYSCKy Coalition in our state Capitol as a Page.

She served our district Representative, Suzanne Miles, and even got to sit in her seat and press the button to log Mrs. Miles’ vote!

Our day in Frankfort also included a tour of the Capitol, lunch in the cafeteria of the Capitol Annex, traveling through the “secret tunnel” that connects the two buildings, and an inspiring message about advocacy and public service from Rocky Adkins, a senior advisor to Governor Andy Beshear.

It was a long day by the time we made it home, but my heart is full knowing that my kiddo had this awesome experience.
