Hey there!

I'm Michelle.

Let me see if I can do a 60-second version of my life story. I grew up all over the place while my Dad’s Army career advanced. My mom homeschooled my brother and me, a choice I’ll be forever grateful she made, through 6th grade. I had a year of private school, and then entered public school in south Georgia when my Dad retired.

I earned a full academic scholarship to a small liberal arts college, where I majored in Early Childhood Education. My sophomore year, I met a tall pre-med student and my world changed forever.

Chris and I started dating in October 1999 and were married in December 2001, two weeks after I graduated college. We were mere babies!

While he was in medical school, I taught public school (pre-K, Kindergarten, 1st, and 3rd grades) and earned National Board Certification as an Early Childhood Generalist in 2005.

Our son was born a few months before med school graduation; I came home from the classroom at the end of that school year. Our next baby, a daughter, was born during Chris’ surgical residency. Our youngest was born just one month after Chris entered private practice.

As if those three lovely human beings don’t keep me busy enough, I’m also a proud dog mom to two Weimaraners. I’ve served in children’s ministry and women’s ministry at my church, and am usually hosting a weekly Bible study in my home (or by Zoom during pandemic life).

When it comes to fiction, I’ve paused in my querying trenches – but if you’re part of the #writingcommunity, I’m always up for talking craft and sharing stories!

What else? I’m a die-hard coffee fiend, a Disney lover, and a Weird Al Yankovic fan. You can also find me on Instagram and Threads: @michelle.nebel,  visit my FB author page, or email me at michelle.nebel@gmail.com

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.”
