All my windows are open, and a cool breeze is blowing through the house. 🙂
I actually had to pull a hoodie off the closet shelf to add to my tank top for the park this morning. 🙂
Once the sun came out, it warmed up pleasantly and Jonas had a BLAST cavorting in the sprinklers in the park, and then drying off and digging in the sandbox. 🙂
I can’t believe it’s already September, and the official start of autumn is just a few weeks away – but I can feel it and smell it in the air. It’s almost time to break out my second-favorite box of decorations (top billing goes to the Christmas stuff, of course) and deck the halls with leaves and cornucopia and scarecrows. Woo-hoo! I love the fall. And I love Fall in the Midwest even more than I used to love fall in the south – the leaves actually change color, the temperature actually drops, the air gets crisp and brisk and feels lighter somehow.
Now that Chris has decided on General Surgery (that’s right, ladies and gentlemen, we have a career choice!) and we know we won’t be doing a fellowship but will be job-searching for a practice, I’m getting more & more sentimental about this place. I realized that we only have a couple more years here – really less than 2 years now! – and I want to treasure the seasons and the moments in this place and with the friends we’ve made here. Don’t be surprised if I crank out more than a few weepy/corny/cranky posts about the passage of time and the community I’ve found and how much leaving is going to suck.
